I've recently purchased a Nest Camera (Indoor/Outdoor with Battery) and enabled the live location feature which allows the camera to automatically set it status to Home and Away.
This Home/Away feature seems to work as I can tell in Home App that the system is logging when I leave and when I arrive home correctly, however the camera is recording every activity in the house regardless of the status.
I need the camera to stop recording when I'm home as it drains the battery and I'm not interested in having surveillance while I'm in the building. How do I fix this??
I've read all blogs and restarted the camera, and there seems to be no clear way to fix the problem.

We don't use any Home/Away features, but I believe that, for any Google Nest products managed in the Google Nest app, I believe you use the "Home/Away Assist" feature:

And for Google Nest products managed in the Google Home app, I believe you need to set up "Home & Away Routines":
