Nest Cams in Home App to Different WiFi Networks

I have 3 of the "old" Nest Cams, which I am working on converting to the new Google Home App.  I also just purchased 4 of the "new" Nest Cams (battery), which only work in the Google Home App.

In setting up the 4 new cameras, all are automatically connecting to the same wifi router/network.  This is causing issues with some of the cameras based on where they are placed.  We have 5 wifi networks around our property (10 acres), so need to be able to connect each camera to a different wifi network (whichever router is closest to that particular camera).

Setup of a new camera doesn't even offer a step to select which wifi network, and once it is added to the Home account, I do not see any settings options to change its wifi connection.  How can I get each camera connected to a different wifi router, but still all show up together under a single home location within the Home App?

The devices aren’t the problem.  It is the setup process.

We purchased a 4-pack of cameras.  When setting up the first camera (Home app), the process includes a step to select what WiFi network to connect it to.  But then when adding cameras 2, 3, and 4, the Home app skips that step.  It appears to assume we want each additional camera to connect to the same WiFi network.

That is not going to work given the size of our property.  We need to specify a different WiFi network for each camera.

How do we change or specify the WiFi connection point for each camera separately?

Hey there CCH,

Sorry to hear about the confusion when adding different cameras and different properties. To complete this, you'll have to add different "Homes" within the app which you can then add different Wifi networks and the camera devices to each one of those.

This article should help you a lot and be exactly what you're looking for.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Best regards,
Garrett DS
