Nest Doorbell 2nd gen (wired) chime puck install question with Wasserstein

I'm looking to add a Wasserstein wireless chime to my doorbell.  I'm not using a chime puck now as the system has no chime.  Do I need the chime puck for this as the Wasserstein install diagram and videos do not show the puck anywhere in the installation loop.  I ask because I had a Wasserstein transmitter fry on me and the warranty replacement isn't passing enough power.  I had an electrician install the transformer and connect everything and he can't figure it out either.  Are their products just junk?  Any help greatly appreciated.

I think Wasserstein should tell you whether it's needed or not. Do they have a support number? We have an OhmKat Power Adapter with an OhmKat Wireless Chime for one of our Google Nest Hello Doorbells, and their install instructions explicitly state that the Google Nest chime connector is not needed (and OhmKat has a support number that they answer).
