Nest Doorbell (Battery) Not Detecting Movement

Chalex89
Community Member

Hello, I am having trouble with my Nest Doorbell not detecting movement unless the movement is within 5 feet of the camera.

I've set zones and it kind of worked for one area but not always and never works for another area. I've deleted and retaught the zones with no luck, as well as re-initiated the Nest with Google home.

I've verified the sensitivity and still receive no notifications and no recordings for obvious movement.

Please help!

Hi @Chalex89

Thanks for posting here in the community. I'm sorry to hear your Nest Doorbell Battery isn't detecting movement. Help's here!

Check App Notifications:

  • Notification Settings: Make sure notifications for motion detection are enabled in the Google Home app for your Nest Doorbell Battery. You can customize notification settings for different events like motion, sound, or person detection. Follow these steps to Change cameras and doorbells alerts.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Melany

Thank you for the response, Melany.

I have checked that all my notifications are on for all movement inside and outside of all the zones. Still no luck 😞

Hi @Chalex89

Thanks for the follow-up information. I'm sorry you're in this situation with your Nest Doorbell Battery continuing without detecting movement. I'm here to help!

  • Remove the current Activity Zone: It removes markers on your timeline that show when your doorbell noticed activity there.
  • Create a new Activity Zone: Use the app to draw a zone around a specific area in your doorbell’s view.
  • Please follow these steps to Remove and Create an Activity Zone.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,

Melany
