Nest Doorbell Battery Plug in Transformer Recommendation

Dcarr1000

I recently purchased a Nest Doorbell Battery and am operating it hardwired to a plug-in transformer.

I have an 18.5V reading at the doorbell (same as at the transformer plugged in ~30 ft away), but the doorbell doesn't charge enough. It slowly loses charge over time, so after two weeks there is no charge left.

Is there a recommended plug-in transformer that is recommended for use with the new doorbells? I tried a 24V, but it tested at 27V and the doorbell would not charge at all. Should i next try a 20V?

This all would be much easier if there was a specified compatible transformer rather than searching amazon for different ones and "trying them out".

I have the same problem with a 20V, 10VA adapter. I just think Google did not design the doorbell to charge effectively from the wired connection, so the battery gradually runs out.

Has anyone had success fixing this?

I have exactly the same issue and I am asking for a replacement to see if things would work again.

I just gave up and got the wired doorbell - which works perfectly. This proves the issue was never my power supply but rather how the battery doorbell operates/charges when wired.
