Nest Doorbell Cracking

My Nest Doorbell is cracking!  My porch is covered and the doorbell isn't subjected to rain or sun...yet the face is peeling.  It has been happening for some time now.  Google says this is "normal" and that we just  need to purchase a new one because it is out of warranty!  I find it hard to believe a doorbell that costs more money than most has issues like this.  I'd share pictures but this forum doesn't seem to allow that.

I agree it shouldn't be this way. Sadly you are not alone in your thoughts.  I believe that companies like Google can and should do better. If it is protected from sun and rain just wait till it dies. You will eventually have to buy a new one as all companies want to sell "newer" models and features.  But I feel your pain. You are not alone.

Unfortunately had the same issue. Take meticulous care of all my things and yet the hello doorbell peeled away and looked horrible. I ended up getting the new nest doorbell after many attempts to get the original replaced. The new one should not have the same problem but is giving me issues with consistent charging. I’m using the same charger that worked for the nest hello. Not sure why they keep causing me issues.
