Nest Doorbell Gen 2 in Belgium Europe

Roeland
Community Member

Hello All,

I live in Belgium and I really want the WIRED 2nd gen doorbell.

I'm thinking about ordering it in America and let it ship to Belgium.

Here are some questions about that:

- The european voltage is 220-240V, would this be a problem?

- The powercord at my front door is a UTP power cord

- I have installed a transformator with the following specs: 12v 12-16 vac => is this sufficiënt for powering the doorbell?

- Since I live in Belgium can i setup the doorbell in dutch in my google home app?

- When I want to add a new device in the google home app (language is set in dutch) it does give me the option to add a 2nd gen Wired doorbell.

Does anyone have any advice on this since I wanna be sure that it will work before I order it and need to pay any custom fees for importing it?

Hi @Roeland,

Thanks for posting here in the community! I love to hear about your excitement for the Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen). In the meantime, we don't have any news to share about availability in Belgium. I'd appreciate it if you could share feedback; it would be very helpful for us to continue improving our products and meet your needs.

Regarding Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen) compatibility, it depends on the outside voltage. In your case, the transformer needs to be 16–24V AC (alternating current), which is the correct voltage range for the doorbell. In addition, a Powercord UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) is not compatible. The Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen) uses a USB-C power cord. For more information you can check the next article: Check Nest doorbell compatibility.

For the Google Home app, you can add your language. However, since the Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen) isn't available in your country yet, that's probably why the Nest device doesn't appear to be added to the app. You may need to change your phone's location settings and add another home with a non-Belgium location.

Additionally, please note that this is an unsupported device in Belgium. Support will therefore be limited.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Best regards,

Jenniffer
