Nest Doorbell Offline because of empty battery, but it’s wired

Hello all,

I recently bought a Nest Doorbell because I’ve had a few packages go missing… blah blah. So I hooked it up to the previous wires for my doorbell, tested the voltage, everything checked out, and the app says i’m chillin… until I try to scrub through the day’s footage. It tells me that the device was offline due to an empty battery? But then I check the battery and it’s got the infinite symbol. I get some notifications throughout the day of people coming and going but I know that I am still missing some. Did I set it up wrong or something?

Hello @gklier

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I'm sorry to hear the video history was not visible since the Nest Dorbell was showing offline. Let's work together to fix the inconvenience.

I do appreciate the steps you've tried to take regarding this situation. To troubleshoot effectively, please answer the following questions:

  • When did the inconvenience start?
  • Have you had any power outages?
  • Which doorbell did you used to have?
  • Which doorbell do you have?

In the meantime, please follow these troubleshooting steps:

  • Use the release tool included in the box. If you don't have the tool, you can use a flathead screwdriver. Insert the tool or screwdriver into the hole at the top of the doorbell, then pull the doorbell up and away from the wall.
  • Locate the reset pinhole on the back of the doorbell.
    • Press and hold for 5 seconds.
    • Your doorbell will restart, and the status light will be steady and solid white.

If the inconvenience persists, perform a factory reset.

Please let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Eitan
