An attempt to create a standout post regarding the fairly recent deterioration of Nest Doorbell (battery) recording functions. There is a clearly a Google-side problem preventing recording during late-night and extremely early morning time periods (which seem to me, as the the MOST important time periods for recording events). This has been proposed by users on many forums including this one. Our cameras have general recording/event history issues during regular daytime hours (understandable stuff), but apparently have ZERO access to any late-night/very early morning events and recordings.
This is NOT related to low battery issues, as my camera is wired into the previously existing doorbell wiring.
This is NOT related to Nest Aware/Nest Aware Plus subscription issues, as like many users, I subscribe to the Plus subscription.
This is NOT related to poor Wifi connectivity, as I have a fiber GIG connection (both ways) with mesh connectivity throughout my property.
A vehicle was recently stolen (assuming hot wired - which would create a lot of video and sound commotion directly within my camera's view) around 3am. My camera did not record a thing. Hot wiring a vehicle in my camera's direct view is not a detectable event?!!
This needs to be addressed asap. It is clearly not a hardware or user issue. This is CLEARLY a Google-side software related issue. I'd also be extremely upset if Google DOES have the recordings stored in their mass storage centers, but not available to the paying users? Our property? Our data?
My post needs to be addressed immediately before further measures are to be taken...

The Nest Aware plus subscription is not going to give you 24/7 recording for the battery version of the nest doorbell even if it's wired to an external source (something to do with it overheating). Also I don't believe the doorbells will trigger events based on sound.
I'm pretty sure that my Nest doorbell battery started with a wakeup sensitivity of medium and I had to go into the app to change it to high so you might want to check that.
