Nest Doorbell (battery) fails on setup

Using google home app. Brand new google doorbell battery cannot connect to Wi-Fi 

Archer c4000

iOS 15 and iOS 14

attempted to fix with:

tried two different brand new doorbells

power cycle router

power cycle doorbell

factory reset doorbell

2.4 and 5 ghz Wi-Fi networks

within 5 feet if Wi-Fi router

reinstalled home app

rebooted iOS device

made new “home” in home app

tried connecting to 5G hotspot

guest Wi-Fi network (no auth required)

iPhone and iPad home apps 

toggle Bluetooth 

toggle airplane mode

Enter device code (instead of QR code)

contacted phone and twitter support now I’m here with a brick doorbell.

SOLVED. 

How? I used an Android device to setup the doorbell. If you have an iOS device and are not having success as of this writing (Google Home iOS version 2.46.106) it seems the iOS app is incapable of performing setup. 

Neither phone tech nor Twitter support were able to help me on this. In fact, phone tech told me they will call me back in 72 hours. Lol.
