I have a Google Nest Doorbell (battery) that keeps going offline every time the temperature drops. When I bring it inside and place it near my router, it reconnects instantly and works perfectly. The Wi-Fi network and password haven’t changed — the issue clearly happens when the outdoor temperature is low.
During summer and mild weather, the camera stays online for months without interruption. Now that temperatures have fallen, it goes offline for long periods even though the router is the same and other devices nearby work fine.
This pattern has repeated for two winters in a row, and it makes the doorbell unreliable during the cold months. The device is installed in a covered entry area, not exposed directly to rain or snow.
Could you please advise if this is a known defect or if Google can offer a permanent fix or replacement? It’s unreasonable for a security camera designed for outdoor use to fail in typical Canadian winter temperatures.
