Nest Doorbell w mechanical chime has strange result

DudeGuy

I have the Nest wired doorbell and have swapped out my transformer to a larger 30VA size for the mechanical chime. The chime plunger that hits the metal chime is making a humming sound and the plunger is constantly in motion, not ringing the chime but making noise nonetheless. I made sure my settings are not set to an electronic chime.
When I had the smaller transformer in, the issue was much worse, causing the chime to be rung randomly and frequently. The wires all look good to me, any idea what might be wrong?

 For those wondering… the light switch below the doorbell turns on a light inside the front door of the house. I’ve never seen seen this before and I don’t think I will keep it long term. The things you find when you buy an old house 😆

@DudeGuy

Have you installed the Chime Connector that comes with the Google Nest Hello Doorbell? I don't see it in your photo of your chime.

"The chime connector allows the chime’s wires to deliver constant power to the Nest Doorbell (wired) and protects your chime from damage. In addition, without the chime connector, you might experience chime buzzing or unexpected chimes." (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9247132?hl=en)

Here's a wiring diagram for the Chime Connector:

Thanks for that, I totally forgot to remove that part from my previous home. I was able to go back, get it, and install it here. No more buzz!
