Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen) save video to local storage a little bit differently. Where are the downloaded video clips located?

Hi JL6,

Thanks for posting in our community.

I appreciate your inquiry on where the downloaded video clips made by your Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen.) are stored, because the videos saved in local storage are slightly different. No worries, help is here.

I confirm that your Google Nest cameras save the videos by default in your device's local storage. You have to look for the folder where the video was saved. That will depend on the device you have, whether it's an iPhone or Android.

Follow the steps below to create and download a video clip:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Tap “Favorites” or “Devices.”
  3. Select your camera.
  4. Scroll to an event in your camera's video history timeline. You can also tap Event History for a list of events.
  5. Choose the event you want, then tap “Controls.”
  6. Tap "Save clip" to save the video clip to your phone. From there, you can share the video clip via email or other apps.

For more information, please check this Google Help Center article: Save and download video clips.

Best regards,

Virna
