HI Mariank,
Thank you for posting in the community. I understand that you would like to set up your Nest Doorbell (wired) 2nd Gen. Let's find a solution together.
Just to be clear, to install the Nest Doorbell 2nd Gen (wired), you'll need to complete a separate electrical installation. Once you have checked the compatibility and voltage requirements, from there you can follow the steps to process the setup for your Google Nest Doorbell.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Regards,
Byron

Hi, thank you! In the meantime I reached out to nest support and learned that the wiring I had in mind isn't supported and I should have a 3 clamp chime for this.
I'll let you know if I have more questions, thanks!

Hi,
Overall what I'd like to achieve is to have video from the Google Nest Doorbell streamed automatically to my Android tablet on the wall after someone presses either the original doorbell button or Google Nest Doorbell button.
Here's how I'd like to approach this now:
I have a few questions to check if that would work:
Thank you!

And one more thing: I'd like to open the electric strike when Nest Doorbell sees my face or the face of my wife/kids. Is it possible to have Google Nest Doorbell send some trigger (like a HTTP request) when the device sees one of the specified faces?

Hi MarianK,
Thank you for your response.
We are always looking for improvements and for all your requests about the Nets Doorbell and your Android Tablet. Currently, this option isn't available for Nest Doorbell; yet, please share your feedback so it can address this concern to the appropriate team so they can work on future updates.
For your questions. Here are the answers:
1. The Nest Doorbell needs to be installed with the Chime; the independent wiring isn't available.
2. To get enough power to the Nest Doorbell and the Chime, we need to get the power connector installed.
3. You can set up your notifications on either your phone or the Google Home app to send a push or email notification when your Nest doorbell is pressed.
4. Yes, once the button is pressed, you will receive notification directly from the Google Home app, and your phone will display the image on the camera of your Nest Doorbell.
5. Yes, you can set up Motions features from your Google Home App to trigger any other person, animal, or sound.
Also, for your last thing about the electrical door open, you can submit feedback about this, and about faces, you can check Familiar Faces features to learn and activate. Here is a good article to check about these features with a Nest Aware subscription.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Regards,
Byron
