Nest Floodlight camera going offline randomly

Tanquen

With the new Nest Flood light camera it happens a lot. There is often missing footage and it’s supposed to record to local memory and offload when its back on the network.

If the power goes out I'll get the off line emails but these outages just have missing recordings.

I see no way to test or see the WiFi strength on the camera.

Whenever I see that it's offline or video is unavailable, I can connect to the live feed. So it seems to be on the network.

Nest Floodlight camera going offline randomly, why?

Why is there missing video? Why is it when I get a notification of event? I can't go to the app and actually watch the event. It says the event's not there and you have to wait 5, 10, 15 20 minutes. I'm paying for full-time recording and yet there's a lot of places where there's just no video. My other three cameras have video and use the same internet.

Because of bugs. I'm sorry to say I do not have an ETA, but I know that a new Nest App update is going out which is supposed to fix a lot of other issues, so I would hope that Home app update is coming soon. I do not have any form of confirmation on that, just a hope. In the meantime, you can reach out to Support to see if they can assist you further.

Okay, I'll see what they say. Please don't lock thread until there's a resolution.

I cannot guarantee that. If there is activity, and the conversation is still moving along, that is not required. But if there is a lapse, or we do not have a resolution which may be the case at this time, I cannot guarantee the thread won't be locked. Just so you are aware.
