Nest Google Doorbell Camera - Flaking of plastic film/membrane

Has anyone else had issues or is there a known issue with the front of the camera where it looks like the plastic film/membrane has cracked in many places and is flaking?  It has not affected the quality of the video on live stream of playback but does not look good.

There are hundreds of posts in this forum about "peeling" or "delaminating" Nest Hello Doorbells. It has happened to two of our three Nest Hello Doorbells. Since they are both past the 1-year warranty, we purchased silicone "skins" on Amazon to cover most of the peeling shards, since the doorbells continue to work. (The small internal battery on all three has also failed [another issue with MANY posts here], so we've turned off the "Indoor chime" option on all three to prevent them from going offline for a minute whenever the doorbell button is pressed, and we rely instead on "Visitor announcements" to our Nest Hubs and Nest Mini.)

Thank you for your helpful reply; much appreciated.

Can you recommend a particular silicone case supplier?  I have checked Amazon and some reviews talk about the blocking of the 'infrared lights resulting in poor/none picture.  I believe I have the '1st Generation' doorbell......
