Nest Hello DoorBell Not Connecting to app

I have a Google Nest Hello Doorbell, and all of a sudden, it showed the camera was offline. I deleted the camera and tried to reconnect it to the app. Now it won't let me connect it through the app. I used the Nest app and encountered various errors when trying to connect to the internet. code NC004/NC021/NC003. I installed another brand of doorbell, and it works fine and is connected. I like the Google Hello doorbell better and have been trying to reconnect it. The Nest app keeps showing an error connecting to your camera message. Then I tried using the Google Home app, and it won't find the doorbell. I manually enter it in, and it tells me to scan the QR code on the back, but it does nothing and takes me to the start screen on the app. I have factory reset the doorbell by simultaneously pressing the ring button and the reset button, but it does not help.  Does anyone have any ideas out there, or have they run into the same problem?

Doorbell has the same issue here. Mother in law has the same issue since a couple of days...

Same here.  Google has a server failure and they don't seem to realize it.  5 of our 8 cameras when down two days ago including the doorbell.  Tells me only some of their servers are down maybe that's why they don't realize.

You could try the "interactive troubleshooting guide" link here:

The 1st gen Google Nest Hello Doorbell cannot be reinstalled in the Google Home app unless you have "transferred" it to the "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app.

My 2nd gen doorbell camera quit working on Thursday night 7/30/25. It says offline in the app but I can scroll back and see history. The doorbell works when pressed. I wonder if there was a firmware update if others are having the same issue around the same time. I have tried to restart it by killing the power but that did not help.

I've now seen enough posts of people having similar issues where I am confident this is a Google-sided failure I will sit tight and wait them out.

Hi all,

Thanks for reaching out to the community. I'm sorry to hear your Nest Doorbell suddenly went offline and can't be reconnected to the app because you're getting error codes that won't allow you to continue. I understand this may be concerning, especially since you've tried some troubleshooting steps with no success. I appreciate the detailed information you shared and your troubleshooting efforts. Don't worry, I'd be more than glad to assist you.

Just to make sure we're on the same page, did you get a chance to check out the article that MplsCustomer shared about the error codes? If so, what happened when you tried those steps?

@MplsCustomer, thank you for jumping in.

Please keep me updated on how it goes.

Cheers,
Jonathan

So I figured it out. My internal battery was dead or very low power. Took it apart and bought a $10 battery for it. It connects just fine now.
