I've had my Nest Hello doorbell for a few years, and its peeling and cracking. I'm also unable to speak to the person ringing the doorbell using the mic/speaker. I've read throughout the forums that this is a common issue amongst owners of the Hello doorbell. How do I get a replacement for my product that has an obvious design flaw?

Google typically doesn't offer a replacement if it's no longer under warranty, unfortunately. That said, you're welcome to contact the contact the Google Nest support team who can check your warranty status and confirm.

We bought silicone skins on Amazon to cover the peeling shards on two of our Nest Hello doorbells, because Google Nest says they "cannot" replace peeling doorbells that are older than the 1-year warranty. All 3 of our Nest Hellos also go offline for a minute whenever the doorbell button is pressed (due to failure of the internal battery: https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Cameras-and-Doorbells/Nest-Hello-Doorbell-cuts-out-when-butto...) unless the "Indoor chime" option is turned off. So we rely instead on the "Visitor announcements" option to get announcements on our Nest Hubs and Nest Mini.
