Can I set up using a PC and the USB connector? I plugged my new Nest Hello into my Windows 10 and my Windows 11. In both cases I get the Nest Hello ring light to a blue color but am unable to find a communication channel to the Nest Hello from the PC.

Just for clarification, are you wanting to use your Nest Hello doorbell as a camera on your PC? Directly connect the doorbell to the PC through a USB cable?

I am preparing for installation of the Nest Hello at my front door, outside location where the existing doorbell button is located. A professional security tech will install in the next day or two. I have run thru the Google/Nest installation video and am trying to learn. When I saw the USB port on the back I decided to explore. Based upon the Nest/google knowledge base it looks like Nest Hello is not one of the security cameras that can be set up from a PC. I have powered up the Nest Hello via the USB cable, got a blue light, got the audio to work by pushing the Nest button. I have not been able to connect to Nest Hello from either a Window10 or Window11 PC. In addition, I have not been able to use my android phone and Nest app to find the Nest Hello when it is power up and a few feet from the target WiFi signal. So, why does the Nest Hello have a USB port in the rear?

I believe the port is used for maintenance/troubleshooting of the device and/or to charge the small internal battery when needed. Normally the battery charge is maintained by the wire connections, but in some cases it may need to be manually charged.
