I'm replacing an old nest hello Gen 2 wired doorbell due to the fact that my old one kept overheating. I bought the exact same model as I had previously. I had to install it via the nest app and now I'm trying to migrate it to my Google home app with all my other devices. I keep getting a transfer edit when trying to transfer it from my Google home app. I have rebooted, uninstalled and reinstalled both my Google nest and my Google home app. I've also rebooted and factory reset my nest hello doorbell. Still cannot migrate it. Anyone have any idea.

Since Google Nest has not sold any 1st gen Google Nest Hello Doorbells (the Nest Hello is NOT 2nd gen) for several years (at least in the U.S.), PERHAPS the one you purchased has been sitting on a shelf somewhere for years and needs a firmware update before it can be "transferred". Have you just tried letting it run in the Google Nest app for several days to see if the firmware will update? (This is just a guess on my part.)

Hmmmmm, not sure what is going on here. I transferred my Nest Hello (gen 1) door bell to the Google Home App about 3 weeks ago and it all went smoothly.
You might try opening up a support ticket so you can speak with an actual Google Tech person on the phone. Here is the link to get you going. After you get thru all the questions you will be given the change to have a phone call. Good luck and if they are able to resolve the problem please return here and let us know how they did it.

Thanks. Since my Home app updated to 4.2.51.1, I've had a few hiccups. I also have a Google Max that I had to factory reset and when It came up, it would not allow me to set up the Nest Cam. Home App just crashes. I will reach out to Google. Thanks again
