Nest Hello doorbell - Nest App on Android: there is no app available to view this url

amshukla

Hi,

I am not able to login to the nest app or connect to my nest hello doorbell using my android phone. When I try to login using Google account, the error I get is:

"There is no app available to view this URL".

Is there some setting or permissions required to get this to work? I have installing, uninstalling, reinstalling the app as well as restarting the phone but to no avail.

Please advise.

Thanks!

Hey amshukla,

Thanks for visiting the Community.

That certainly hasn’t been easy for you. Let’s check what’s going on. Could you tell us the Android version of your phone? Also, does your Nest app have permission to use your phone's location? Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services > Nest.

Thanks,

Archie

Hi Archie,

Thanks for the response.  I couldn't locate location permissions for nest app at all.  My android version is 11 (phone is a OnePlus) and nest version is 5.68.0.2.

Thanks!

Hey amshukla,

Try this — go to Settings > Apps and Notifications > App Permissions > Location. Let me know if this helps.

Thanks,

Archie

Dear Archie,

Apologies for the delayed response. I checked the settings as you advised and can confirm that Location permissions are enabled for Nest app. However, the issue with login still remains.

Attached please find the screenshots of the settings and the error.

Regards!

Hey amshukla,

Thanks for the screenshots. Could you check if your phone's date and time are correct and automatically set? Check if there's an available OS update on your phone. Also, try using your mobile data to isolate the issue.

Thanks,

Archie

Hi Archie,

The date and time on the phone are set using NTP. I tried to login using mobile data by disabling wifi on the phone, but that didn't help either. Checked if there is a pending system update and can confirm that the system is up to date.

amshukla
