Nest Hello no longer rings chime

My Nest Hello no longer rings the chime. It used to work but now no longer rings the chime. I've replaced the transformer and the chime. I suspect the chime connector is malfunctioning and would like to replace it. Where can I obtain one?

When your doorbell is pressed and fails to ring your indoor chime, does the camera on your doorbell also go offline for a minute or so? If so, your Google Nest Hello Doorbell may have the same failing internal battery reported by hundreds of us users: https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Cameras-and-Doorbells/Nest-Hello-Doorbell-cuts-out-when-butto....  (Yes, the Nest Hello has an internal battery that many of us did not know about,)

Google Nest's stance on this is that it "cannot" replace the Google Nest Hello Doorbell if it is past the one-year warranty period.

If the problem is just your Chime Connector, Google Nest--unlike its competitors--does not offer spare parts unless your device is still under warranty.

Thanks for pointing me to this issue as this is an exact match to my problem. I can only discern from the Google response that they wish to get out of the camera/doorbell business. I know I'm done with Google/Nest.

If you have a Nest Mini or Nest Hub or speaker, a work-around is to turn off the "Indoor chime" setting and turn on "Visitor announcement" to announce doorbell rings on your hub, mini, and/or speaker.  Then the camera doesn't go offline either.

Hey there,

MplsCustomer, thanks for your help!

tks2017, we're sorry about your indoor chime that's not working, let's check this out.

A quick question, do you have a Nest Hello Doorbell(wired) or the Nest Doorbell Battery?

If you have the Doorbell Camera(wired), check these guides:

  1. Do you have an electric chime? Is electric chime enabled?
If you have an electronic chime, go to Settings > Nest Hello > Chime duration.
  2. Make sure that the chime isn't disabled (Settings > Nest Hello > Chime) or its duration is reduced.
  3. Check if Quiet Time is enabled. This should be turned off.
  4. Go to your camera live feed > check if Quiet Time is turned off.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

JT

JT,

This was answered last Friday. I have since removed the Hello with the dead battery and replaced with a device which is serviceable.
