Nest Hello peeling

A quick search of this forum or Reddit or other communities seems to indicate a LOT of customers have this issue. Mine is about 18 months old and after noticing an issue with night vision video having an out of focus area, I went and had a closer look and of course mine is flaking and peeling.

I contacted support and after 30 minutes of back and forth and providing some pictures, I got nowhere. The agent told me they would love it if I submitted feedback so they could improve but I was completely out of luck because my warranty was expired.

I truly don’t understand - based on the volume of threads here discussing this issue, and the fact that every one is filled with people who all share the problem, how can Google ignore this?

it’s very disappointing. I have a large investment in Nest for my home, but I have a hard time spending the money to buy a new one when all indications point to history repeating itself. I like the Hello and had one at my last house and bought them for my parents and brother, but I think it’s time to find another solution.

Has anyone been able to get anywhere with support?

Hi there. I too have the same issue with my Nest Hello and tried contacting Nest for support and was told the same thing. I came onto the forums here hoping for better success and had a response asking to fill out an online form for a potential replacement. Unfortunately it's been over a week since I've done so and have had no further contact. My original post has since been locked for replies and any attempts to repost my original issue have been deleted.

A very disappointing response by Nest/Google on what seems to be a broad issue with their product.

Agreed. I understand that warranties protect the product for a limited time, they can’t last forever. However, when there’s an issue this widespread, it would seem to indicate there is a material or manufacturing process issue. When other tech manufacturers have these kinds of issues, you’ll often see them extending goodwill since they know it’s an issue that’s not normal.

Hey there,

Thank you for your patience. We do not process these requests in the Nest Community Forums. If you are seeking a replacement, please first fill out this form so Support can collect some important information from you. Once the form is submitted, you will have your case number. To keep this request organized to a single individual, please be aware that this thread will be locked.

Best Regards,

Brad.
