My Nest Camera (battery but I had to plug it in because they charge is awful), while viewing on my hub, will keep disconnecting. It takes me back to home control and I have to press the camera I want to view all over again. I want continual monitoring of this one camera while I am sitting at my desk. Is this possible? Yes, I have a subscription.

Do you have your Google Nest Camera Camera (Battery) plugged in all the time? We have one that is plugged in all the time with the optional power cable that we purchased separately and it is "Live" all the time and we haven't had its viewing cut off.
If you're using the charge cord that comes with the camera, some customers have reported their cord was defective and were able to get a replacement.
Google Nest Support last week also reported that the battery camera and doorbell can't charge at temperatures below freezing: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/11830989?hl=en

I purchased the optional power cable. Yes, it is plugged in all the time. I have 2 new battery Nest Cameras, both with the optional power cable. When on live they both will drop and go back to the Home Screen on the Hub. I have 2 old Nest cameras that I view continuously on the old Nest App & they never cut out.

Using your Nest Hub to monitor your Google Nest Camera (Battery) should definitely work. After all, the Google Store advertises the two devices as a package, even without a Nest Aware subscription: "Know what’s happening around your home by streaming your Nest Cam on your Nest Hub (2nd gen)."

I suppose you could try contacting Google Nest Support and asking why their package deal does not work as advertised:
