Nest Indoor Camera

I can hardly hear the  live or recorded video from my Nest indoor cameras on the Google Home App of my IPhone. Also, when I tap on camera to view the activity, the motion freezes. Is there something I can do to fix these problems?

Thank you for posting in the community. I understand you've been experiencing some inconveniences with your Nest Indoor Cameras on the Google Home app, as you can barely hear the live recorded video from them and the video freezes when playing the videos. I'm happy to help.

In order to determine the reason for this, please provide the information requested below:

  • Do you have an active Nest Aware subscription?
  • How is the Wi-Fi connection in that part of the house?
  • How is the internet connection in general? Do you have any issues with any devices going offline, slow downloads, too many people online at once, etc.?
  • Did you first set up the cameras in the Nest app or Google Home app?

As the audio of the videos seems to be too low, I recommend you first check the audio settings on the app by following the steps below:

  • On the Home app, tap the camera >​​ Settings > Audio, and toggle the Microphone on.
  • When applicable, adjust the volume slider until you're satisfied with the audio.
  • Confirm if the audio issue happens on other mobile devices or computers.
