Nest Outdoor Cam - WiFi issues when battery level reduces

I've had an outdoor Nest Cam for a few months and I've noticed that when the battery is full I can view live video without any problem but once the battery drops to below 50% it won't connect. I've also noticed I'm getting a lot of disconnects as well. I've got an Amazon Eero about 12 feet away from the camera which is the other side of a patio door.

Why is this happening when the battery level reduces?

Also the features in the Home app compared to the old Nest App (I also have an indoor cam) are terrible.

@petenice

It does not seem reasonable for the camera to have problems functioning when the battery is at 50%.

We've had one of the new Google Nest Battery Cameras since September 2021 and have had it plugged in ever since with the optional 10-meter power cable so that we could have 24/7 history with our Nest Aware Plus subscription. Our camera is live all the time and the battery stays at 100% even with temperatures down to -18 degrees Fahrenheit (though we have to unplug the camera in order to check the battery level).

I agree with you about the Google Home app. The battery camera has less functionality than our other cameras and doorbells because it doesn't work with the Google Nest app or the home.nest.com website.

Thanks for your response @MplsCustomer

I've just charged the camera and it's connecting to live video without any issues. Nothing else has changed.  Maybe someone from Google can explain why the performance is so bad when the battery level reduces.

So the same thing has happened. All working fine at 100% as soon as it's below 75% it's no longer connecting for live video. I would appreciate someone from Google to have an input on this issue.

@Brad no the issue hasn't been resolved. The camera will show live video when fully charged but once it starts to reduce it becomes unavailable.
