Nest Outdoor IQ offline (quickly flashes blue)

Hello there. Recently my Nest Outdoor IQ camera keeps going offline. It has happened to me in the past and I got a new power cable and it worked fine for a few years, but now it’s been happening quite often and cycling through the 3 cables I have just acts as a temporary fix before it goes offline again. I actually just put a new cable that I hadn’t opened yet until recently which only lasted about a month before it went offline. I’ve gone through the process posted on several other posts to no avail.

I'm having the exact same issue as detailed here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/thread/29535526/nest-cam-iq-stopped-working-blinking-blue-ligh...

At this point I’m thinking my camera may be going bad as it’s only this camera that goes offline, none of my others have this issue. I’m probably out of luck since the Outdoor IQ seem to be discontinued now. Just wanted to see if there was any solution someone has come up with. Thanks!

Hi there,

Sorry for my late response. Thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I just wanted to make sure that your issue is addressed. I can definitely understand how frustrating your situation must be. I would love to help you find a solution to this issue.

  • Do you still need help with this issue?

  • What troubleshooting steps have you done thus far?

  • Have you tried to restart your device if you haven’t already?

  • If the restart didn’t work, have you tried to do a Factory Reset? This would be a last resort option, but would clear out issues and the device would essentially be ‘brand new’

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Best Regards,

Brad.

I went through several attempts and checking wires and for water damage or overheating.

I couldn’t find any physical problems so I ended up just trying a factory reset once more. So far my camera has stayed online. Some of my Nest devices like the protects and thermostats are on my 2.4ghz WiFi while my cameras are supposed to be on the 5ghz. I noticed that right before I reset the camera at fault was connected to the 2.4ghz one. After the reset I made sure it was on the 5ghz like the other 2 cameras are that haven’t posed any issues.

It’s been a couple weeks now with no connection issues so hopefully it sticks!
