Nest app is terrible on iOS and iPadOS

Same problem as highlighted by others before: The last several weeks the cameras will freeze up on the app and just keep spinning. The app on iPhone and iPad has always been inferior to the android app (not to say a piece of garbage) but the last few months it doesn’t even work 95% of the time.

Would be nice if they would get their act together. Nest used to provide a reliable service… but it ain’t no more.

It’s useless. Google appear to abandoned the Nest Aware app and haven’t offered the same features in their home app. As you say, it constantly freezes and prevents scrubbing through daily events. I paid google £100 for this service and they should be refunding their customers compensation for a service that is unfit for purpose. I have cancelled auto renewal and will Loki at other options.

This is definitely caused by the last update for Nest on iOS. Unfortunately the only solution is another update which who knows when that will happen.

Yeah it’s bad, scrubbing though your video history and finding what you want to see and nothing plays just a spinning circle, when you get notifications and you press on it nothing plays. For what you pay I’m  kicking my self I didn’t get a proper cctv solution, because nest is pathetic.

Hi Brad,

Of course we need further assistance. Thanks for asking!

The Nest app for iOS is so buggy that it makes it useless and it should be reported internally to be fixed as quickly as possible (hint: not in 2023!)

There is no technical reason that the android app work just fine when the iOS app is so bad.

Thanks for your help and thanks for keeping this thread open.
