Nest app starts and then crashes!!

ToddS

I have been using the Nest app on my Samsung galaxy S21+ phone for years and has always worked great, but just about 3 weeks ago it starts to load and then crashes.

Things I've done:

Uninstalled/Installed latest app

Cleared cashe

Cleared data

Allowed all permission

Powered down my phone

Phone is updated

Factory reset on phone

Contacted Verizon/Samsung/Nest

Still no answers to why it starts and crashes, sometimes it it will stay open for about 20 seconds and crashes. If anyone has any other thing I could try to make this work it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I had this issue on a clients set up. Google lied for months gave us the runaround lied again kept lying lied some more then told the client to use another device to operate the app from which they did and it did not resolve the fault. So Google then recommended the client purchase a Google device to operate the app. You can see where this is going soon the home app wont work on anything other than Google devices.

I talked to the support team for about 4 hours and still no luck.  The good thing that came out of it is the tech recommended I download the Nest app using the apk format, which I found and it listed older versions and I took the one from 2022 and it worked great and then went to the playstore and searched for the Nest app and got into the settings and checked do not update. It's working fine now.  They kept telling me it was Samsung or Verizon that as the issue,  but they we're wrong.

Thanks
