Nest battery doorbell unable to chime indoors

Hi all, I saw a similar post, but it was locked without resolution. I am trying to get my nest battery doorbell to chime indoors, but the option is grayed out and unavailable. There is a line on the top of the page that states “Electronic chimes Will not work with your doorbell when it is using battery power.” I am able to select the tab for visitor announcements. The tab for “ring Indoor chime” is grayed out and unavailable to select. Any help? Trying to use this with an Amazon echo

Do you have a Google speaker connected to your home app? I selected visitor announcements and then an option to choose a chime was available and it comes through the speaker and announces someone's at the door. It comes through hub max, speakers and my sons chromecast

No. I’m trying to use an Amazon Echo (that I already have) and avoid buying another speaker

Hello everyone,

@Tomgoodwindo thanks for reaching out here in the Community and for sharing with us what you've done with the issue. Google offers a Smart Home skill for integrating your Nest devices with Amazon's Alexa home control.

Give these steps a try:

Add your Nest device to the Google Home app.

  1. At the top right of the app home screen, tap your account profile and then Home app settings.
  2. Tap Partner Connections and then Amazon Alexa.
  3. Turn on permissions for your new device.
  4. Say “Alexa, discover my devices.”
  5. Remove a Nest device:

Do either of these steps.

  • Turn off Alexa Partner Connections permissions for that device.
  • Remove your device from your Google Home app or Nest app.

Wait a few minutes, then refresh the Alexa app.

I appreciate the help, Natethegreat1.

Thanks. I’ve done all of this but the option to “Ring indoor chime” is grayed out and not selectable. The message states that Electronic chimes won't work with your doorbell when it's using battery power.

Press the doorbell theme then it opens a page with the different spund options

Finally got it. I needed to enable permission through the Google partner connection. Until that was selected, everything else would go except the indoor chime
