Nest cam battery

I’m considering purchasing the nest cam battery,

I already have the nest cam app with 3 cameras (2 outdoor and 1 indoor)

my question is can I simply add the battery camera to my existing system and use from my current nest app?

As far as I know, the new doorbell only works with the Google Home app and cannot be added to the Nest app.

Hi, LB11

Unfortunately, the new cameras can only be viewed and managed from the Google Home app.  So for the time being, you'll be forced to use both apps to view history of all cameras if you do purchase the New Camera. The Google Home app will allow you to view your current cameras, (as you already know.) But the older cameras will only be able see live view footage.

In time, the Google Home app will allow a full Nest Aware video history reviewing of all of the older cameras, But as of today that's not the case. (Unfortunately.)

Hi LB,  Don't do it!  The VERY long list of complaints is growing by the minute.

Read this message from Google and then read the list of comments following.

I returned my cameras just for the reason that the new cams are not viewable in your computer's browser which is super important for how I use them.

Hi there,

Sorry for my late response. Thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I just wanted to make sure that your issue is addressed. I am terribly sorry to hear that you have had such a hard time with this! I would love to look into this issue further and help find a solution for you. First off, I have some questions I’d like to ask you.

  • Do you still need help with this issue?

  • What troubleshooting steps have you done thus far?

  • Have you tried to restart your device if you haven’t already?

  • If the restart didn’t work, have you tried to do a Factory Reset? This would be a last resort option, but would clear out issues and the device would essentially be ‘brand new’

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Best Regards,

Brad.
