Nest cam facial recognition

Dyates

I have 2 nest cams gen 2 battery cameras and want to buy a 5m genuine nest cable to connect to power and was wondering if that would give me the same features as a purchased wired camera as well as save battery. The main feature i am trying to get is face recognition because it keeps alerting me when it’s picking me up.

face recognition will still alert you thats its you.
Every day i get a phone notification that im walking up to my door. An alert that i am there, its ridiculous that you cant customise a notification based on a recognised face.

Hi Dyates,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community forum. I appreciate your interest in our weatherproof cable. Familiar face detection is part of your Nest Aware subscription, if you have a subscription, these features are automatically available for you to use.

If you have a subscription and it's not working, you can follow the steps below:

Home app

  1. Open the Home app .
  2. Tap Settings and then Subscriptions and then Nest Aware and then Familiar face detection.
  3. Turn familiar face detection on or off for each camera.

Nest app

  1. Open the Nest app Nest app.
  2. Tap Settings Nest settings icon.
  3. Select Familiar faces.
  4. Turn Familiar face detection on or off for each camera.

Let us know if that works.

Cheers,

Renz
