I got a Nest hub to compliment the new Nest cameras but soon realised they don't really work together other than pulling up the live stream.
Why is there no option to choose alert notifications through the hub?
Why don't Nest products offer an enhanced experience I couldn't get from using a 3rd party product, a live stream is something I could have got with a camera costing a third (or less) of what the new Nest outdoor camera costs.
One of the selling points of the new nest cams is the personalised alerts (person, pet, parcel) and yet no one at Google thought it helpful to implement those alerts through the Hub??

At present, we can receive Visitor Announcements on our Nest Hubs when our Google Nest Doorbells are pressed, but can not receive notifications for any other events on our doorbells or cameras.
There have been other postings in this forum asking for what you are requesting. It would be a nice feature.

It's just so bizarre it's not even an option, if they can do alerts for doorbell presses they can do alerts for everything else. I fail to believe it's because of programming constraints and/or implementation. Nest is supposed to be an all-in-one home automation solution and yet the integration between it's own products is as basic as it comes in certain areas. What's the point?

There hasn't been an acceptable answer yet. I wish you'd stop being so eager to lock threads before there's any sort of resolution. It's highly annoying and just fragments unanswered questions throughout the forum.

Just setting up our doorbell (battery) and my Hub only says "camera feed not available" when I specifically ask for it. No notifications show up on the hub ever. I do get the notifications on my phone.
