I bought a Google Nest Camera for nearly $200 to add to my other Nest camera and my Nest app (which I love).
The Nest App sends me to the Google Home app to add the device doesn’t let me add it in anyway to the Nest App where my other cameras are. The Google Home app sucks and I don’t want to monitor my cameras there not do I want to use two apps.
I have read you don’t actually allow new “Nest” cameras to work in the Nest App.
That is not cool. What is your immediate resolution to this?

Both the Google Home and Nest apps allow you to control the earlier generation Nest cameras and doorbell. However, to setup the new Nest Cams you will need to use the Google Home app. Google has committed to bringing more features and settings to the Google Home app. More information below.

Sounds like you are implementing a policy important to the google home developers not the google Nest customers.

Agree completely with the original poster. We used to own 7 of the original (pre-Google) Nest drop cams and even though the software had issues occasionally with the Nest app, we seriously are regretting replacing them all with the new cameras a couple months ago. I have many other Google home products, so I was looking forward to being able to have that all in one app. However, the experience for the camera in the Home app is terrible and basically unusable. We aren’t even sure how to address and isolate the issues because there are so many. Huge regret purchasing these cameras.
