Nest camera notifications not showing video preview, Take 2

Brad shut down the thread after offering no help, even though myself and another member expressed frustration and being at wit's end over loss of functionality... e.g., previews that used to be attached to camera notifications stopped appearing, forcing us to open the app every time (time consuming) to see what was up. A true PITA.

Yes, Brad asked a few times if we still had the problem, no change or fix evident, and we patiently waited for a helpful response. The problem is still there. -1 kudos for you, sir.

But should we ever expect help in the future?

It's a miracle! My previews reappeared today, without me resetting or reloading anything.
Clearly it was nothing on my end, but thanks big G for getting around to it.

Same issue. Came here to ask the same question. My video previews disappeared when I updated the iPhone to iOS 15. I presumed it was connected to that. So interesting to hear that it also disappeared from Android phones too. 

Would be really good to get the Previews back. It's a right PITA to have to open the app simply to watch a short clip. We used to use the previews all the time, to quick check what happened. 

Google Nest - can you let us know if this function is coming back - Please!

Would be great to actually solve this issue - or at least accept the issue exists. 

I tried looking at my wife's iPad. It still has the previews. Her phone doesn't. My phone doesn't. I'm imagining that perhaps her iPad has an older version of the Nest App - since she never bothers to update things. Whereas her phone, I sometimes update for her. If that's the case - then the issue is definitely related to the Nest App having changed something and removed the Previews. Can yo confirm this is the case Brad? And if it is the case, can you confirm that someone is looking in to bringing them back. It was SUCH a useful feature, that I miss badly.

Hey folks,

 

This is an ongoing issue and is being looked into further, and all the feedback is welcome. I am afraid I do not have a solution for this issue at this time. Just make sure that all of your devices have enough power, a strong and steady wifi connection, and make sure that your apps, and phone are updated at all times to the latest firmware. Restart if you need too, or Factory Reset if you choose to go that route.

Good to hear. Nothing has changed on mine. I'm on iPhone. I seem to remember you might be on Android, maybe they updated the app there, fingers crossed that the iPhone version follows.

Issue still exists for me. There don't appear to be any updates to the App on iOS. And the preview option is still not there.
