Nest camera wont connect with Motorola MT8733

Anyone know how to connect a Nest Cam to a Motorola MT8733? Google was not helpful having me do multiple factory resets with no change in the results. I figure it must require giving it some sort of permissions through the Motorola network side but I don't know how to get the IP address of the camera without it connected to the wifi network first.

I could be misunderstanding here but are you attempting this through the "google home app"?

Yes, I've tried multiple times and done multiple factory resets and it simply won't connect on the network. I have a Motorola MT8733 cable modem/router.

Hi everyone,

@Mikeatl, thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To confirm, have you tried adding your Nest Camera using a mobile hotspot? Are you getting an error code? How far is it from your Wi-Fi router? In some cases, settings on your router or access point could be causing a problem with the connection.

High firewall security or parental controls can block new devices from connecting to your Wi-FI network. Refer to your Wi-Fi router or access point documentation to check if these features are enabled on your network and how you can exempt your camera from these restrictions.

Check our recommended Wi-Fi settings for more detailed configuration options.

Looking forward to your response.

I appreciate your help, Fraa.

I fixed it by getting Motorola 6 wifi 6 extenders. The Nest system is not currently working with actual 6E regardless of what Google said when I called them. They only support wifi 6.

Hi Mikeatl,

Happy to hear that! I appreciate the gesture. It looks like we can consider this one complete, so I will be locking this in 24 hours if we don't hear back from you again. Feel free to start a new thread, and we'll be happy to help.

I appreciate your help, Emerson.

All the best,

Zoe
