I have 2 nest cameras. One is on the Nest app and one is on the google home app. I want both on same app. Which app is best to use?

Google is actually sending messages to migrate from the Nest app to the Google Home app. This shows that Google probably has the intent to phase out the Nest app. Besides, only first generation of Nest cameras can work on the Nest app.

1st gen Google Nest cameras and doorbells get installed only in the Google Nest app. 2nd gen Google Nest cameras and doorbells get installed only in the Google Home app.

Customers who are on the beta "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app are being invited (https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Blog/Nest-Cam-Outdoor-1st-gen-expanded-support-rolling-out-in... test out transferring their 1st gen Google Nest cameras (not doorbells) from the Google Nest app to the Google Home app. We're not on the "Public Preview" version, and even if we were, the Google Home app STILL lacks numerous Google Nest app functions (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/13038234#zippy=%2Cnest-app-only-features), so we don't want to transfer our 1st gen cameras yet.

We've been using 2 apps ever since buying a 2nd gen battery camera in Sept. 2021. Having to use 2 apps is an ongoing nuisance.

Agreed. Many features are missing. My Nest IQ cameras for instance allow you to zoom in, and record at that zoomed level. I use this feature on 2 cameras. Also, I find the best app a lot more responsive to timeline scrubbing, where the the home app tends to buffer or not go to the selected event/time.

This whole situation and delays have been very disappointing. I think investing in ubiquity or other brands might be a better step forward.
