Nest does not see my new Nest Cam (indoor wired Gen 2), but Google Home does ...

I've had two nest devices for a few years, and just added a Nest Cam (indoor wired Gen 2).  Nest does not see the new camera, but Google Home sees it, and uses it just fine.  How do I go about getting Nest to see the new device?

Google Nest decided that its new cameras and doorbells released starting later in 2021 would work ONLY in the Goggle Home app and NOT in the Google Nest app or on the home.nest.com website.  For older cameras, notifications and settings are still handled in the Google Nest app.  So we've been using 2 apps for the last 15 months after getting a new Google Nest Camera (Battery).

Google Nest does have a "preview" website, home.google.com, that is in development, and livestreams both old and new cameras.

Pulling the plug, and thus restarting the Nest Hub Max fixed the problem.  I can't believe I didn't try that as the first thing when troubleshooting.

Thanks!  That answers my question.  And I have tried home.google.com, and I also see all cameras, old and new, there.

Hi there,

Thank you for your feedback on this, I fully understand the frustrations of not having your new Nest cams in the Nest app like you may be used too. However, you can now use the Google Home web app to view your cameras and doorbells.

The new Nest cameras and doorbell are exclusive to the home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with your speakers and displays. A Nest Aware subscription applies to all of your cameras, speakers, and displays in the same home structure. Thank you for your continued patience, and support.

Best regards,

Brad

I got the same response from Google support that I had to use the (inferior) Google Home app to view my new camera so am stuck in the same situation as MplsCustomer in having to use two apps to see my cameras. The Google Home app doesn't seem to give any notifications and I can't see any way of viewing history on home.google.com.
