My battery for Nest doorbell keeps dying every 2-3 days.

Mine too. Does anyone know how to get Google support for this? Or is the next course of action to simply return it? It's pretty useless to me to have this as an added chore while my packages continue to be stolen.

Hi there,
Thank you for your patience, I know that keeping your Nest devices charged is very important, and I would love to help you out. When it comes to keeping your Nest Doorbell (battery) or Nest Cam (battery) up and running, here are some articles and troubleshooting guides for the best charging practices:
I hope those articles help shed some light on charging and maintaining battery levels of your Nest doorbell or camera. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Hi there,
I've tried all the troubleshooting steps and still not able to get the battery to last longer than a few days. A new symptom I'm seeing is that after a charging session, the software is ignoring the zone settings and sending me video notifications of events outside of the zone I marked. This is draining the battery fast because we live on a street with a bus stop and it's recording the bus stop activities despite my marking it as outside the activity zone. So now not only do I have to charge it every few days, I also have to delete and recreate the zone every time. I've tried to call my security company to exchange the doorbell camera with a regular wired camera, and they won't allow me to do so. Now I'm stuck with this equipment that doesn't chime or stay online long enough to notify me when I have a package.

Hey mt12,
I’m sorry for the delay. Thanks for your efforts here. Let’s sort this out. Could you help me with the troubleshooting steps you’ve tried? Are there overlapping Activity Zones where you don’t want to receive camera notifications?
Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
Your camera won't send you notifications for activity in that zone, but you can still get notifications for activity in other areas in its view.
I appreciate your help here, Brad.
Thanks,
JT

Hi JT,
I have a single activity zone marked for just my doorstep area and to only alert me for packages, not people. When I remove the doorbell to charge it, it keeps the zone intact in the settings, but doesn't actually apply the selections I made before I dismounted it to charge. I had my security company come in and try to troubleshoot it, and their conclusion was 'well, you live on a busy street and will need to charge your camera often'. I've tried to ask for a replacement with a wired outdoor camera, like my backdoor, but no luck with the security company 😞

Hey there,
Thanks for trying. Let’s dig deeper into this — could you turn off all your camera notifications, turn on only package notifications then let us know how it goes?
Best,
JT

Hi there, I just recharged the camera and placed it back on the door. So far it hasn't alerted me to people, just packages. Looks like its working for now, but the battery life is already down to 58%. I think the issue is with how busy my street is and the fact that I can't get an exchange for the wired camera (camera only, no doorbell) from my security company. There's nothing else Google can do unless you want to have a business-to-business conversation with ADT and their resellers about their 3-day exchange policy, which isn't nearly enough time to uncover an issue like this.
