Nest doorbell battery not detecting motion

I have the Nest dorbell battery about 6 months old. Motion detection has disappeared and camera is constantly idle, so effectively useless. I've restarted and restored factory settings, also increased sensitivity in video and set up activity areas but nothing works. It only detects motion when I'm in the home app looking at live view. I want it to register motion and notify me when there is motion. The doorbell works and green light comes on when I push but green light never works otherwise. It used to work fine, registered when I came home,  noticed peoole, packages, motion etc and sent me notifications but now nothing. So no point in having this anymore, also battery is charged and its not too hot or cold outside, anyone know what the fix can be?

On the battery doorbell, the status light is off when the camera is "Idle", so you can't tell anything by that: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9268073?hl=en-GB#zippy=%2Cgoogle-nest-doorbell-battery

As just another Google Nest customer, however, I find it concerning that the doorbell used to detect events but now does not. Perhaps your doorbell is already failing and you need to contact Support (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9268073?hl=en-GB#zippy=%2Cgoogle-nest-doorbell-battery) to see if you need a replacement.

Nope, it's not clear how to actually get hold of support!

Unfortunately, starting with that link is the only way to contact Google Nest Support.  Depending on the day and time of day, you get phone or chat contact options.
