Nest doorbell blue light flashing cannot connect to WIFI

Tried everything possible..... reset. everything...multiple times.   Replaced modem in house and added everything back into Google Home.    Everything works fine except I cannot get my doorbell camera to work.   Was working fine before.    I have blue light flashing all the time and cannot connect through Google Home.   I try through Nest App, but pushes me to Google home.   I have turned everything off, factory reset the door bell, done everything....and very frustrated.   The door bell will not connect to my WIFI.  Please help and figure out what I am doing wrong.....

The 2nd gen Google Nest Doorbell can only be installed in the Google Home app.

What is happening when you try to reinstall your doorbell? Are you using the factory reset instructions (not the restart instructions), which require pressing the reset pin at least 12 seconds until you get a solid steady yellow status light followed by a confirmation tone?

Figured it out.   My Nest is battery and connected to the electric of the doorbell.  But in order to connect, you have to use the battery only option.   Which was confusing since my Nest also has electric. Not sure why it only states “battery”???

Hi folks,

@RPG603, chiming in—I'm sorry to hear the confusion caused by the labeling of the "battery" option for your Nest Doorbell. It's possible that the term "battery" is used to indicate that the doorbell can be powered solely by the internal battery, even if it is also connected to an electrical source. In this case, when you select the "battery" option during setup, it means that the doorbell will primarily rely on its internal battery for power, even if it is physically connected to an electrical source. This configuration allows the doorbell to continue functioning even during power outages or if the electrical connection is disrupted.

If your Nest doorbell is connected to an electrical source, but you selected the "battery" option during setup, it's likely because the doorbell is designed to operate in that mode, using the battery as the primary power source and the electrical connection as a backup or supplemental power source.

Let us know if that helps.

Best,

Zoe
