Nest doorbell cam makes doorbell "pop" before chime

Anyone have this issue and solve it?

My doorbell used to make a pleasant chime and now it "pops" first and chimes...

It's an older wired electronic doorbell - when it "rings" now it first "pops" on and then plays it's chime.

I't's annoying because the pop sound is as loud as the chime. Nest cam works fine.
