On the Nest doorbell, is there a setting to turn on the camera only when the doorbell is pressed?
I live in NYC, and there's a regular flow of people walking the street past my front door that trigger the "person seen" event. They're some 15 feet away from the camera, not even facing the camera. It creates a lot of useless notifications.
Also, I have a Nest Doorbell Battery. Right now a full charge lasts about a week, with about 2 days in going into battery saving mode. Removing the false positive triggers would improve this quite a bit.
Thanks!

Update - solved this by turning off "Seen events".
In Home app > doorbell > Settings > Events > Seen Events, I toggled off all Event history (people/package/animals/vehicles/motion).
This seems to effectively turn my doorbell into ring-only mode as I have desired. I'm more than a week in on my last charge, and battery's still at 97%.

Hi Steven,
This is not a feature that is currently available but I can see how it could be useful. I would encourage you to submit feedback with the feature rest via the Google Home app or via a smart speaker.
As an alternative, have you tried setting up activity zones within the app to try and eliminate the unwanted notifications? You can find more about how to set up zones here.
All the best,
Phil
