Nest doorbell hard wired charging issues

Jbarday

We set up our Nest doorbell camera a few weeks ago after fully charging it first with the USB cord.  We decided to hard wire it where our existing doorbell was.  We previously had a Ring doorbell camera but decided to swap it out with the Google Nest camera and never had any issues with it staying charged and never had to remove it to plug it into a USB cord to recharge it.  However, I noticed today that my Nest camera is off because it is "charging".  It is currently at 79% charged and still charging.  Does the camera not record still while the battery is charging?  It seems a little odd.  Also from what I have read if the camera is hardwired then it will only charge to 75%.  Did we install it wrong or something?  I guess I'm just a little confused as to why it wouldn't continue recording events while it is still connected to a power source.

Hi there,

I'm terribly sorry to hear that you're having this dilemma, I understand how upsetting this could be, but I'm happy to assist you with this inquiry. If your Doorbell is plugged in, it will be charging. If it is not plugged in, it dies unless it is installed as a wired doorbell. It sounds like there could be an issue with your cord, or power source maybe? Have you the chance to contact Support about this concern?
