Nest doorbell no video at all

Google Nest Doorbell, purchased in November 2021. Doorbell displays no video and has not for at least one month. No live video, no video history, no triggered events. If I stand in front of the camera, the green light comes on indicating I have triggered the doorbell but no event will be recorded. If I press the doorbell, an event is recorded but no video is ever loaded to the server. Error messages include "Live view unavailable" for live view, and "Video not yet available" for all recorded video no matter how old.

I have tried reconnecting the WiFi, restarting the device, factory reset of the device, and various other fixes found in Google community forums. All failed so far. This must be an issue with the code.

Thanks for posting and for sharing what you’ve done to have your concern resolved. I apologize that the camera isn’t working.

 

A few questions: what type of Nest cameras do you have? Do you have an iOS or Android device? Does the issue occur on multiple mobile devices or cameras? Also, are you using the Google Home or the Nest app?

I have only the nest doorbell battery camera. We use Android devices. It does not work on either android phone we have, nor on the Google home display we have. All show black screens or an error.

@JasonDL, thanks for the follow-up information. By any chance, have you already checked the battery level of your Nest Doorbell? If not, check for its state on the Google Home app by following the steps below: 

 

  1. Tap Favorites or Devices.
  2. Select the camera from the list of devices.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Under Device features, tap Battery.

It had 3 weeks/68% of battery life at the time of these tests
