I have the Nest Doorbell (battery) and I have an intermittent issue with the talking features.
The person at the door is unable to hear me when I activate talk and listen, but I can hear and see them loud and clear. It's very frustrating and embarrassing shouting down the phone whilst walking the dog trying to let the postman know to put that parcel in the box, for them to pop it back in their van and take it away 😭
The doorbell is the battery version but is hard wired. Voltage is within parameters of the instructions.
The issue with the doorbell activating the speaker is intermittent.
The issue is present when using the Google Home app on both my pixel 7a and my wife's phone too.
I have tried both soft reset and factory reset. This makes it work for about an hour or 2 but then the issue returns and noone can hear me again.
When I isolate the mains power to the doorbell at my consumer unit the doorbell returns to battery mode as expected. This change of power supply makes the voice output work for an hour or 2 before the issue returns again. Returning the mains power again then also makes the voice output work again for an hour or 2 before the issue returns again.
I have read multiple posts on this community and confirmed all permissions in the Home app are granted with this not fixing the intermittent issue.
I have a smart watch connected to my phone (as does my wife to hers) and disconnecting bluetooth and also turning Bluetooth off completely before answering in the Home app and testing also hasn't fixed the issue.
I pay for the nest subscription so my footage is saved in the cloud. It has been reset and all my history lost for this doorbell twice now with no real resolution to the issue.
I am a bit lost with this and am searching for advice on how to fully resolve this issue. It has one purpose and currently isn't fulfilling this.
If I'm honest I would be looking for a warranty replacement as it is less than 12 months old and I am losing faith with this product now. I would also appreciate someone letting me know if this is achieved by the retailer I purchased from or through Google.
