So I noticed that last year about this same time, a gentleman posted about how he dropped one of the terminal screws from the back of the doorbell unit and lost it. There were no extras, Google/Nest won't send extras, and they won't give out the measurements and thread pattern of the screws so they can easily be found at a hardware store. He suggested to Google/Nest that they make future models with captive screws so they don't fall out and get lost since they won't do anything to help you get replacements.
Well today I got mine and started installing it and got to the part where I was hooking up the wires to the terminals on the back of the doorbell unit and I guess they didn't take this other guy because I lost a screw down a crack in my front porch with no hope of recovery. Needless to say I'm pretty frustrated to find out that there is no hope of finding a replacement except I go to the store and try every screw in the building until I find one that works.
Nest really ought to include extra screws that are VITAL to the operation of the device or make the vital parts captive so they can't be lost.
