Nest doorbell won't connect

Skaner

Let's try this again.

I've been trying to install my Nest Hello and always get errors NC022 or NC023. The doorbell is about 2 feet from the hub so connectivity shouldn't be an issue. I've never had issues with other Nest products, some of them are 30 feet away and connect fine.

I'm also having major issues with some of the community specialists here. This is the 5th time in the past year that I'm posting this question and I'm getting no help. My last attempt went like this:

- Started a thread about Nest Doorbell on Nov 8

- Received a response on Dec 3 asking if I've been helped yet!!!

- Responded on Dec 5 that I still need help

- Received a response on Jan 11 asking if I've been helped yet!!!

- Thread closed on Jan 13

I'm very sorry that I wasn't able to respond within 24 hours which I guess was quite convenient for you to close the thread but if I don't receive any help for 2 months it doesn't seem to be an issue. And asking me if I received help when there are no responses to my question should eliminate this response. If there is another channel to receive faster assistance please let me know and I will stop wasting my time here.

The Google Nest Help website (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9240048?hl=en#bluetooth_connection_problem&zippy=%2Cnc-...) CLAIMS that the NCO022 and NC023 errors "mean your camera couldn’t connect to your phone through Bluetooth. You’ll need to make sure Bluetooth is working and is enabled on your device."

Judging from the posts in this forum, lots of customers are having issues setting up new cameras and doorbells. We have been fortunate and have NOT encountered problems installing our newest devices, so I can't recommend what you should try. It does seem that Google Nest Support just closes a lot of threads without offering solutions.

I am having tltje same issue today. Wifi is strong, Bluetooth is on. Camera fades in and fades out to dark every minute, turned it off for a while. Went to turn back on and it's offline. I tried restarting it, holding down the doorbell and the pinhole button, even disconnected it from the wiring and reconnected. My phone still can't find it, even though I sit for 5 minutes less than a foot away from the doorbell. This is a Google issue, not a phone or wifi problem and Google won't give a solution.

Now I even removed the doorbell from my Nest. Attempting to reinsert it into the system. Same problem. It is not connecting to my phone (Google Pixel 3).

RESOLVED - see below

I'm having the same exact issue. I've tried all the above troubleshooting steps others have and 2 different Pixel phones to try to connect to Bluetooth. Nothing worked.

I have a claim submitted but no response yet. It's extremely frustrating, especially since all my devices are in the Google ecosystem.

I ended up contacting them through twitter and they were very helpful via dm.

Hi Garrett, I figured it out and it's resolved. Thank you for following up.

Thank you! I finally got it working today.  I read another post suggesting pushing the reset hole and the doorbell at the same time.

Nothing more frustrating than to pay a lot of money and not getting something to work easily. I went through everything, upgraded my transformer, installed a new chime & had an electrician try.

I'm glad support was able to help you!

@Skaner

I just wanted to apologize that we closed your thread sooner than you would have liked. We as Community Specialists are primarily here to moderate these Community Forums. Part of that role requires us to close and lock threads if there is limited, to no activity. It is not required for the issue to be resolved for the thread to be locked and closed. I understand that this process may be frustrating, but Community Specialists are still required via our title, to manage our communities this way.

Best Regards,

Brad.
