Nest floodlight camera will not reconnect after removal/reinstall (Android Home)

I had this camera/floodlight working fine until I had modem/router problems.    As a result of these issues, I "removed" the device from Home, reset the modem and tried to reinstall, but now the camera doesn't connect to the wifi.  (In hindsight I never should have removed the device).

To reinstall I followed the normal sequence of steps (including scanning the QR code, etc), but when I get to the "Connecting" step the camera never connects, ultimately getting the "Try moving closer .." message.   The camera light is blinking green.   I've tried resetting the modem (again), powering the camera down and up, restarting the phone (pixel 6), to no avail.    There is a relatively strong wifi signal on my phone when placed near the camera.

This all worked effortlessly on the initial install,    i made no changes to the modem/router config, all I ended up doing was resetting the modem.

Any ideas?

Tx, Jim

My problem was resolved by a factory reset.   The procedure to do this is to hold the reset button on the back of the camera for 30 seconds.    Two tones separated by a few seconds, followed by a blinking blue light on the front of the camera, indicate that the reset was successful.

Just had the same problem. Should be a reset button on your device. Hold that till you hear a sound/tune play. Then try reconnecting again. Good luck

Thanks for the reply, but unfort that didn't work.   I hit the reset button for 5 sec, heard the little tune, but still no ability to connect.

Anyone know what the required wifi signal level is (dBm) for the camera to work properly?

Hi there,

Just checking in to see how the conversation is going. It looks like it has now been resolved, but I am relieved to hear that a factory reset seems to have done the trick. Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Best regards,

Brad
