Nest hello doorbell stopped working

Well to start I've had my doorbell for a year and a half maybe 2 and have had no issues other than internet at one point. But Thursday it went offline while I was out of town and it never came back on my other 2 cameras were still working fine. Came home no lights on at all no power working. Wires going into it still had power so that wasn't the issue, did a hard reset removed it and readded it and it worked again, for 4 hours then shut off again, same issue completely shut off, pulled it off the wall reset again the next day and it worked for 2 hours then power off, Sunday and Monday same thing. Are these known to short out? It's on the porch out of the weather and only has about 2 hours of sunlight early morning on it otherwise covered. Any ideas or is it just junk?

Sorry for my late response. Thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I just wanted to make sure that your issue is addressed. I would love to look into this inquiry for you further. I am terribly sorry you have had these issues! I can understand that must have been quite frustrating. 

  • As this is a wired setup, it sounds like there isn't enough power going to your Nest Hello. Here is a great article on the Power Requirements needed for each camera. Please go through it, and verify that your Nest Hello is getting the required power. 
  • Have you tried to restart the device as well?
  • What other troubleshooting steps have you taken besides what is stated here?

Apparently it's shot! Bought it new little over year and half ago, warranty is only for a year. Yes it is the wired one, voltage tested 17-18v, had it all rewired and new transformer, nothing, as for resetting it, as in the original post that was done repeatedly and would only get it to function between 2-4 hours each time it was reset then it would fault out and not work again! For about 2 weeks even though the camera didn't work it would still right the doorbell inside, but now the green light is on on the doorbell but it has no function at all other than a fake camera to detour people from being stupid! Customer service after telling me there is nothing they can do for me, said It would be a great time to look into getting the new wireless doorbell!

I'm so sorry to hear about the frustrating news that you received about needing to get another doorbell since it is no longer working and out of warranty.
